BEst of show Rules
Best of show is a popular thing to do on car meets. I liked the idea but felt that a lot of cars sometimes completely got ignored or underrated. There are many good cars, so it happened that cars won with 3 votes in a session with 15 people. So most cars only got 1 vote. This best of show works as a knockout phase with multiple rounds. With this system, every car gets a bigger chance and will be properly voted by all players and it makes it a bit more entertaining. So how does it work?
For the location, I will use this parking lot near Pillbox Hill. Any similar location will work fine. This example will be a 14 people session including 2 hosts. So 12 people will anticipate.
1). First, everyone should park their car in the red area on these parking slots. When all the players arrived, the first round starts. In the first round will be 6 (1v1) battle so we will have 6 winners for the next round and 6 losers. The two opponents can be chosen randomly. I would recommend it like the yellow lines.
2). The two battling cars will line up next to each other in the green area. The host will stand in front of the two cars. Everyone should come to the green area except the two people in the cars. If everyone is ready the host will make an action to signal the start of the voting. The voting is the same as the regular best of show only with 2 cars. The car that got more votes will win. The host will show the winner an action to approve his win and everyone will get of the cars.
3). The winner will go left on the street and then back to the red parking area for the next round (preferably park behind the cars from the current round). The loser will go left in to the blue parking area with his car. The two will immediately come back to the next voting after they parked their car. Then the next two people will come with their car and the process starts over.
4). After 6 battles we have 6 winners and 6 losers. The 6 winners will go into the 2nd round with 3 (1v1) battles with the same system as in the first round. After round 2 we have 3 winners for the final voting.
5). The host should announce every round on discord (don’t use @everyone here). The battles itself should be self-explanatory from this script. Two hosts are in my opinion better: one is the judger for the battles and the other one is for discord and organization.
6). The number of rounds and battles are varied to the number of people that join. To make it a bit longer I would recommend at least doing 2 rounds + final. The final can be between 2 cars or a podium. But the host can decide about the number of rounds, battles, and players per battle. A round can, for example, be 4 battles long with 3 people so a 1v1v1 with one or two winners.
